CHIEFS, QB ALEX SMITH AGREE TO FOUR-YEAR, $68 MILLION GUARANTEED EXTENSION The Kansas City Chiefs have locked-up quarterback Alex Smith for the long haul. The team and Smith have agreed to a four-year, $68 million contract extension that …includes $45 million in guarantees, Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star reports. Bringing home $17 million now makes Smith the 10th-highest paid quarterback on an average basis, according to via OverTheCap.com. Smith, 30, was entering the last year of the three-year deal he signed in 2012 with the San Francisco 49ers, who traded him to the Chiefs last year. (Photo: Associated Press)

Not 49ers related anymore but it is really nice to see former 49ers QB Alex Smith getting the recognition and money he deserves in Kansas City.

Pretty sure the man didn’t get as much as he wanted but at least somebody wants him
